Financial Experience - David has 13 years of experience as an accountant and CPA, with over 5 years as a school finance officer.  With budget cuts being passed down each year, we need someone on the school board that understands how school finances work and can help the administration make the dollars they receive as effective as possible.
 
Small Class Sizes and Core Programs - One of the factors that has made District Six an excellent educational organization is the focus on small class sizes.  With budget cuts looming, we need to ensure that class sizes in core subjects do not grow.  This may involve eliminating spending in other areas, but the core subjects of language arts, math and science need to be protected.  These classes need to be small enough to enable teachers to provide individual instruction to all of their students.

Strategic Leadership - District Six has a wonderful history of excellence.  The facilities are outstanding and the long range plan for adding and maintaining them has been very effective.  While it is important to have clean and safe facilities, the primary product of a school district is not buildings, but the instruction of our children.  The school board's focus needs to be directing the administration to develop a long term instructional plan that matches the quality of the building program.  David will work with the administration to develop such a plan and will make sure that it is continually updated and improved, so that District Six maintains its status as a top tier district.

He is a Parent - David has two sons that are the primary focus of his life.  As is the case with any parent, he wants only the best for his boys.  It is this passion that will motivate him to make the right decisions that will ensure that the district is doing its best to educate and ensure the safety of all children.
